FT Search Manager Review: Time Saver.. By Sherry Thomas at IBM India Rating: 5 out of 5. FTS is the best thing that happened to Lotus Notes and continues to be. I use FTSM at least 10 times everyday. I use it specifically when I am not sure when I received a note. For other searches I rely on the in-built indexed search. Each time I used FTSM, I get what I was looking for in about 60s, whereas without FTSM I would end up opening each archive and searching therein taking about 60s per search per archive including the time to open the archive. I have 20 such archives @ 1/month. Savings: 1 search on FTSM = 60s 1 search w/o FTSM = 1200s (avg to 600s as I may not have to search all 20) Saving/search = 540s or 0.15 hrs 10 searches on FTSM = 600s 10 searches w/o FTSM = 12000s (avg to 6000s as I may not have to search all 20) Saving = 5400s or 1.5 hrs
